Few weeks to 2019: God is still Good

A lot of things have happened in my life this year that is enough for me to write a memoir. 2018 has been the most eventful year of my life. It’s a year that I’ll continue to remember as I still remain a member of this earth. It’s a year that even my future husband and kids would know about sef, lol but no lol. It’s barely a month to the end of 2018 and all I can say is God is still good. Even though some bad things happened this year, I cannot overlook the good things too. Your girl graduated from Uni and started serving (NYSC) this year. It’s something to be grateful for, isn’t it? Well, it is and I’m grateful to God.

So many of us had expectations for this year. We set goals that we hoped to achieve this year. We trusted God for some kind of breakthrough this year. Some may have been met and some may not have been met. None may have even be met and it’s making your Faith shake. Dearly beloved, God is still on the throne. Don’t let your Faith be shaky. God can still do that thing you want him to do for you. This year is not far gone for him to give you a testimony. Isn’t he the God of the eleventh hour?

Let your Faith even be stronger than it has been in the past months. If it eventually doesn’t happen for you this year there is still next year. The important thing is for you not to lose your Faith in God. Also examine yourself, what are you doing that may be making God look like he can’t hear your prayers? Yeah, sometimes the things we do can be a hinder to our answered prayer or even the motive why we want God to do that particular thing for us. The Bible says in Isaiah 59:2 (NLT) that:

It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

Our sinful lifestyle can be part of the reasons why God hasn’t answered our prayers yet. I know for a fact that God hates sin. He doesn’t hate the sinner but he hates the sin. So, don’t go believing that since God hates sin and I’m a sinner, God will never forgive me. Guess what, God is not man that has an unforgiving spirit. Look at what 1John 1:9 (KJV) says:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

For the remaining weeks left in this year, let us determine to be intentional with our walk with Christ. Most times we take God for granted and yet expect him to bless us. Most of us only take God as our provider, protector and healer, but God wants to be more than that. He wants to be our hommie, someone we are very comfortable with, someone we would want to do right by all the time. He wants an intimate relationship with us and so, my dear brothers and sisters, love and trust God more this few weeks left to 2019.

Don’t look at what God hasn’t done for you, look at what God has done for you. Most times too God refuses to answer our prayers because we forgot to thank him or didn’t thank him enough for the previous answered prayer he granted us. As we countdown to 2019, tune your heart to the frequency of gratitude and see if God won’t open up the windows of heaven and pour down his blessings on you.

I don’t know what the remaining weeks have in store for me but I hope it’s less stressful and more fun.
