Life is not always a bed of roses. There are times when we would be on our lowest point. The question is, what do we do when we get to that point? When things are not going the way we want, do we murmur and grumble against God?
Sometimes things happen that make us to just sit down and wonder what is going on? Why things are working for other people and they’re not working for us. Why someone is easily getting their dream job and we aren’t. Why we’ve lost someone so dear to us. We wonder what we’ve done to deserve such cruel treatment form life. It may not even be that we’ve committed a sin, but things aren’t just going according to the way we want them to.
The best thing is to:
- be patient,
- pray and
- keep trusting in God that things will work out.
It may not work out the way we planned but it will definitely work out. That tough period of our life is not a time to start doubting God or compromising our faith. As true Christians we shouldn’t compromise our faith because something isn’t going the way we want. That is what the devil wants. He wants to see us get angry at God. He wants us to lose our faith in God. He wants us to turn to another alternative aside God. That is why we need to stay strong and prove him wrong.
God is our father and a good father will definitely want the best for his children. He even said it that he knows the plans he has towards us. Plans of good and not of evil. If his plans towards us are not of evil then, why not be patient? Sometimes God may allow things not work out for us because he wants to test our faith. He wants to know if our attitude towards him will change and if our faith will still be as strong as it was when things were going great for us.
Take a look at the life of Job. He was the greatest of all the men on the east and he was also one who feared the Lord. God decided to test Job by allowing Satan take away all that he had and even causing a great sickness to befall him. One would have expected Job to turn his back against God but, the Bible says that in all this, Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. That is a perfect example of someone we should emulate. We shouldn’t only love God when things are going our way. We should love God in both the good times and the bad times because he is our father and he wants the best for us. He will surely make everything beautiful at his own time.
As we enter a new month, we should determine to have a heart of gratitude even when things are tough and rough. It may not be easy but it will be worth it.
