Living in a messed up word

By

As Christians Matthew 5:16 should be our watch word.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The way God envisioned this world is not the way it turned out to be. It all started from the garden of Eden, from the time Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It was at that moment that evil was brought into the world. Sometimes I wonder how the world would have been if Adam and Eve didn’t eat the forbidden fruit. Don’t you think about it too?

Due to sin that was brought into the world because of disobedience, man now has to live in a messed up world. Humans embrace the bad and discard the good. In fact, bad and good is now mixed up that we can’t even tell the difference anymore. What God hates is now what we enjoy doing.

As Christians, Christ expects us to set ourselves apart from the world. He expects us to be the light that will shine in this dark world. The sad thing is, most Christians don’t even know whose they are and because they lack that knowledge, it’s hard to differentiate them from the children of the world. They act the way they do, dress the way they do, talk the way they do and even go to the same places they go to, forgetting James 4:4

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.

As a Christian who is truly born again and has accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour, you make yourself an enemy of God by living the same lifestyle the world lives. You’ve been called out the moment you decided to live for him. If you’ve been called out then, there should be a difference between you and the world. If there’s no difference then maybe you’ve not really understood the meaning of Christianity.

To be a Christian is to be Christlike. It means projecting Christ. If Christ doesn’t agree with what you’re doing then, why are you doing it? To look cool? What does it mean to be cool? Showing too much skin in your dressing? Getting high on coke? Smoking weed? Getting wasted in clubs? Trash talking? Come on, really think deep. Those things do more harm than good except if we want to deceive ourselves.

As a born again Christian who is expected to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we shouldn’t allow the society dictate the way we live our life. Just because a huge amount of people are doing something doesn’t make it OK or right. Matthew 7:13-14 says:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

If we are not ready to let go of pop culture for Jesus culture then we’ll continue to live by the standards of the world. We’ll continue to see everything the world does as cool even when it actually isn’t cool.

What is your stand? Are you going to live by the standard of Christ or the standard of the world? You have to chose one because the two can’t work together.

I’m definitely going with Jesus Culture.
2 Tim 3 actually helps us to see that we are living in the last days. This makes us know that a new system of things is just around the corner and it would be sheer stupidity to follow the world now

This was a powerful message and I do think about what life would be like if Adam never ate the apple.
The earth probably would be overpopulated.
